Originally conceived as a strawbale, we redesigned this home for the owners and cut about 20% of the square footage out of it. We were inspired by the workshop we were about to host to design this home using the daisy wheel, all the proportions and locations of frame members were derived from points on the wheel. The 28'x32'-6" footprint and bay spacing were also functions of this medieval proportioning system. It's built from White Fir, our favorite local wood.
